We’ve updated our title/performer/review counts — our total number of films is now 114,874 (up from 108,520 in November), number of performers is 197, 260 (up from 103,334) and we broke our final 100k mark with 100,939 reviews (from 96,962 in November).

So I decided to make a quick 3-day trip up to Chicago to check out its first Exxxotica show. I had been to the Miami show the previous year, and it seemed about the same size in terms of number of exhibitors. Numerous porn girls that had signed for last year’s Chicago Exxxtacy show commented Exxxotica was much bigger in terms of booths and girls.
Stage shows were fun with a heavy bdsm theme. My favourite one was the Pretty Things Peep Show which featured Stoya performing her aerial tricks for the first time.

The amount of fans that attended the Chicago show was impressive. One promotion that contributed to this turnout was that women got to attend Friday for free. This resulted in the most gender balanced porn convention day that I have ever attended. Many girlfriends and wives attended with their men and I saw groups of women browsing with no men in sight. They seemed just as elated to meet the female porn stars and buy their products as the typical fanboy. Maybe even more so since they did not have to pay the entry fee.
However, this female balance did not translate to the parties. Only people who had bought vip tickets to the show were allowed into the Friday after-party or they had to pay $20 at the door. You see where this is going. Since the women did not have to buy tickets for the show, they would have had to pay 20 dollars to get in. You had a ballroom full of sausage absent-mindedly staring at go-go dancers. Mr. Pete and I were absent-mindedly helping ourselves to a grey goose bottle in the vip section until the show organisers objected that it was their hooch. Oops. I didn’t even bother checking out the Saturday after-party but heard the same complaint from people that had attended.
About the only other disappointment about the show was the lack of nudity compared to last year’s Exxxtacy show. Chicago seemed lax about the nudity during that show but every girl this year told me they couldn’t flash people because they were fearful of some thousand dollar fine due to a warning from the show’s organizers. Is that the going rate for indecent exposure in Illinois?

VideoTramp has a no screener policy, which they’d like to claim is in order to maintain the highest integrity possible; but it’s really because they’re based in Canada and it’s harder to get screeners up there in the Great White North. Â “We review what we want, when we want.”
Each review has a bunch of screenshots with it mostly softcore to keep the 2257 monitors comfortable. The reviews are succinct because “nobody wants to read a 3,000 word essay on an adult movie, us included.” Â (Phew, mine was only 1300 words.)

We’re big fans of the deep throat around these parts, having been indoctrinated by Little Oral Annie in the mid-80s.
I’ve got deep throat on the brain since I re-watched Little Oral Annie Takes Manhattan last night to clear up some issues in the scene breakdowns and the movie does a good job at showing off LOA’s DT skills.  Between each scene, she blows a different guy against a colored background.  She’s got some great technique where she wraps her lips around her teeth, gobbles the rod and then snakes her tongue out at the end.  Really great… and as an added bonus, no gagging!  The sex scenes in LOATM are all pretty good — lots of mid-80s staples like public hair. :-)
Fast forward to July 2011 and the practice is still with us — this time the lovely Sarah Vandella really swallows Johnny Sins all the way down to the root in her recent scene for Baby Got Boobs (part of the Brazzers network): Switchblade Slut.  (You can see her sword swallowing talents in the trailer.)  She does gag unnecessarily just a little, but I suppose that’s part of the modern porn aesthetic.  (It’s blatantly obvious she can take him all the way down to the root without effort, yet we still have to pretend for a few moments that she’s struggling.  Why? It’s a point off against an otherwise very good scene.)
The scene is a slightly awkward mix of 1950s costumes and music and attitude tainted with modern day surroundings (power windows in the modern cars).  However, Brazzers does deserve credit for their set ups and their willingness to finish the scenario even after the sex is over. Where Naughty America generally just fades out immediately after the pop, Brazzers lets their vignette end.
The sex is spirited throughout — Sarah is a good dirty talker and not afraid to ask for what she wants — and the scene ends with a nice POV BJ and pop and swallow with a final deep throat for good measure.  Oh!  The best Best BEST part?  She finishes him off!  Johnny doesn’t have to jerk it onto her waiting tongue!  Bravo Johnny!! Viva la Sarah Vandella and her mad deep throating skillz!
