Awards and Honors (and Thanks, XCritic!)

logo180x120We don’t tend to roll out new features with much fanfare, so you might not have noticed that we’re tracking “honors and awards” now. You might have guessed that something was up based on our award-season blog posts, and you’d have been right.  We’ve been building a database of awards shows and honors and using it to generate those blog posts, and we also list the honors on the film pages as well.  (Performer honors are in the pipeline; we have the data, but we don’t have a layout that gracefully deals with the added info to display.)

So, nestled down the movie page between the scene breakdown and the reviews, you’ll see a new section:

Honors and Awards

We’ve got a scattershot of award show sponsors and honoring bodies; but we got most of the big ones:

  • Adam Film World
  • Adult DVD Empire
  • Adult Entertainment Virtual Convention
  • Adult Film Association of America
  • AEBN
  • AVN
  • CAVR
  • Critics’ Adult Film Awards
  • CyberSocket
  • Erotic Lounge
  • Exxxotica
  • FlavaMen Magazine
  • Gay Producers Association Awards
  • GayVN
  • Grab Magazine
  • Gram Ponante
  • GROOBY.COM
  • Legends of Erotica
  • Nightmoves
  • RogReviews
  • Urban X
  • XBiz
  • X-Caliber Adult Film Awards
  • XCritic
  • XRCO

And we’ll be adding more as we go.

The most recent award bestower we added was XCritic who just gave out their 2013 Editor’s Choice Awards, and as I was dutifully entering their selections, down in the Special Recognition category, I discovered that we won some special recognition!

In XCritic’s words:

With turbulence in the adult industry over the past few years, many adult sites have cut staff, reduced what they do or curled up in a little ball and died. Not IAFD who plowed forward as strong as ever continuing to tackle the unimaginable task of accurately cataloging all the work done in the adult entertainment industry. It’s a thankless job, one which they do at a level that’s just amazing. IAFD is the last word on who has done what and will always be THE resource we at XCritic turn to to make sure we are always on point and accurate with our attributions.

Thanks to the editors over at XCritic for the nod, it’s very appreciated.
