Today on Radio Sex: Crime and Passion (2002)

Ashlyn Gere is plagued by dreams.  She’s a cop, and she’s having a hard time on the job because her fellow officers (Tyce BuneDale DaBone) don’t respect her.  After a long day, she goes home to find a mysterious VHS tape waiting for her.  She pops it in and she watches Kylie Ireland have mainstream-kinky (which is to say not very kinky – some toe sucking, slight female domination) with a hooded Hershel Savage.  We’re not sure if we’re supposed to know it’s Herschel or not, but if you’re even slightly familiar with his middle-aged physique, you’d make the connection.  The sex between the two is pretty hot ending with a pretty great facial.

The next day, she goes out for coffee with Nick Manning who compliements her on her looks and her ability as a cop, which softens her up.  The TV shows a news reporter, Kelly Nichols, in front of a strip club, reporting on the murder of a dancer, who happens to be Kylie Ireland.

Ashlyn storms into Herschel’s office demanding to work the case — Kylie was HER FRIEND! — but Herschel lets her know it’s not even being worked out of their precinct.  She tries to sweet talk him, but he gets angry, asking why she goes all hot and cold… first they’re lovers, then they’re not… and after Ginger drops some papers off, Ashlyln’s jealous side rears itself.

Sindee Coxx shows the undercovers to a table where they ask for a private dance with Gina.  Sindee explains that Gina only works with Wanda, and leads Herschel in the back to wait.  The disbelief the plot asks us to suspend at this point is ludicrous. [I can’t take it — SPOILER ALERT! — Gina is Ashlyn.  DOUBLE LIFE IN THE SKY!] So for the movie to ask me to believe that Herschel wouldn’t recognize his ex-girlfriend when she’s wearing a wig and Lennon sunglasses is insane.  Tyce finds his way back and Ashlyn goes to work on him while Wanda fucks (anally too!) and sucks Herschel. Gina rides Tyce Reverse Cowgirl for a long time and then the guys cums on their tits.

Ginger delivers the tape that started this whole mess back to Herschel and he is happy he closed the case, but at what price?  Fucking Ginger is his reward, tho, and fuck they do.  They have a really great scene with moments of awesome intensity. They play off each other very well.  It ends with Herschel cumming on each of Ginger’s tits.

AVN gave this movie a 4 1/2 A rating, which is generous.  The review was breathless in its complimenting the plot, which wasn’t any kind of great whodunit.  The sex in the movie is solid and for brief moments transcends into something resembling a connection a few times, and the cumshots are all generally good.  But the plot is overwrought.  Clearly a vehicle for Ashlyn to chew some scenery, but I think Nick really holds his own here.

My exposure to Nick has always been in gonzo titles where DROPPING LOADS! is acceptable, and it was interesting to see him here without those trappings.

Overall, I”m kind of meh on the movie, but it could be due to the fact that I’m not in a great mood and I’ve had a few beers, but I don’t think so… it was just too serious for itself.

I liked the show and I liked being a part of it.  I liked chatting with Debi and Nicki every Thursday night, and the giuest hosts they’d have on every so often.  Never got a ton of feedback on my appearances, but occasionally I’d get a tweet or two about it, so I knew someone was listening.  I also liked revisiting the adult movies from my youth — or the ones I liked anyway.

Rest assured, there’s a silver lining!  Lexi also passed on the good news that (a) she was promoted and now she’s the Producer of YouPorn on Spice Radio (Sirius XM103) and (b) she’d like me to continue doing the classic adult reviews I was doing on NightCalls over at YouPorn with Ginger Lynn and Christy Canyon.

Needless to say, I jumped at the chance.  So, we’ve got ourselves a schedule change — instead of Thursdays at 7:40EST on XM 102, I’ll be on Wednesdays at 2:40PM on XM103.  One day and five hours earlier, and one channel higher on your satellite dial.

Tonight on Playboy Radio: Ginger Lynn: The Movie (1988)

Tonight on Playboy Radio’s Nightcalls with Debi Diamond and guest host Kelly Shibari, we’ll be chatting about the 1988 (compilation) flick, Ginger Lynn: The Movie.  Due to a some scheduling on my end, we’ll be on 45 minutes earlier, at 7:00 PM Eastern (4:00 PM Pacific) as opposed to our regular time.

Compilation flick?  Wha?

Paradise Visuals was one of the leading adult studios in the mid-80s and they had a three-picture “deal” with Traci Lords.  (She appeared in three shot-on-video movies for them, plus a comp (Girls of Paradise) and they used a g/g scene of hers in Whore of the Worlds as well.)

Traci was arguably the biggest star at the time, but running a close second, if not arguably first, was Ginger Lynn.  So Paradise scored quite a coup when they were able to cast both Traci and Ginger in the same movies.  Having both of the biggest stars in the world in the movie was pretty much a license to print money.

Once Traci’s scandal broke, all those movies needed to be pulled from the shelves, so in 1986, we lost those three movies and the awesome scenes that didn’t feature Ms. Lords… and Paradise lost a cash machine.

Fast forward a couple years, and the good folks over at PV say “Hey, you know… if we edit the movies so Traci’s not in them, we don’t have much… but we can take the leftovers that feature Ginger and make a new movie!”  And that they did.

They took scenes from Those Young Girls (1984)Night Of Loving Dangerously (1984) and Lust in the Fast Lane (1984) and edited them together to make Ginger Lynn; The Movie.

This movie is also notable for giving us access to two AWESOME Christy Canyon scenes from her debut, which we would have lost to the (under)ages had they not been repackaged here.

The first three scenes are from “Those Young Girls.”  That movie was written by Ginger, and based on her experiences breaking into porn.  It’s a jokey script — she meets with agent John Holmes who asks if she has a portfolio, and she says she got her (immunization) shots in high school — but personality (and Ginger’s undeniable cuteness) goes a long way…

Tonight on Playboy Radio Nightcalls with Debi Diamond and  Nicki Hunter (Sirius XM 102, 7:45pm Eastern)  we’re going to be talking about Anthony Spinelli‘s 1979 classic, Talk Dirty to Me.
