Data Looks Dope: Top 100 Female Porn Stars

WHAT 100

Max Einstein over at Data Looks Dope recently published an article where he took the 100 pornstars as listed over at xvideos.com and glommed their stats from us and made a fascinating (some might say, dope) graphic representing his findings.

He broke the actresses down by cup size, enhanced or natural breasts, measurements, height and ethnicity and laid it out in a giant graphic which you can get to over at his site.

Tonight on Playboy Radio: The Year In Data

Tonight, on Playboy Radio, we discussed our Year in Data, highlighting some of the data we’ve compiled about 2011 releases… but since that data was already published, I thought I’d make some charts and graphs of some of our other stats.

In 2011, we entered data on 9,394 titles, of which 4,366 of them were made in 2011.  That breaks down to:

So, after seeing how many we added in 2011, I thought it might be interesting to see how this year’s data entry stacked up to prior years… We didn’t track the dates we added something to the db before 2003; so pre-2003 there were over 53,000 titles already in the database.  In 2007, we added gay titles to the database, so our output basically doubled… FUN FACT: The editorial team for gay titles is made up of two people, and neither of them are gay.

We get a lot of corrections, and I was happy to see that we clear most of them up; the blue bars represent corrections we accepted; the red bars corrections we rejected and the green bars are ones we either haven’t gotten to or are under consideration.

Height is something we’re often asked about, so here’s the expected bell curve of women’s heights (in centimeters)…

Have any data you’re interested in seeing plotted? Let us know in the comments and we’ll revisit this topic going forward…

The Year in Data 2011

So as I sit, waiting for a respectable time to start drinking, I thought I’d slice up some data that we collected over the past year.

NOTE: These numbers are not indiciative of the industry’s performance, just the part of it that we tracked… we are certain, despite our best efforts, that there are sins of omission… nothing personal.

Before I get into the stats, I’d like to take a moment to thank everyone who has done a search, sent in a correction, served on our editorial staff. This site has become a pretty valuable resource, and it’s been because of everyone involved — surfer, performer, editor, director… thank you for giving us something to jerk off to. It means a lot.

According to Google Analytics, we served 20.7 million unique visitors in 2011, and in that time we served those visitors over 249 million pages. That makes our head spin. To think this site started running off a DSL line in my attic…

Since Jan 1, 2011, our dedicated and tireless editorial staff has entered data on 9,384 titles.  Of those, 4,366 were from 2011.

UPDATE: The data was republished at 11:30 AM EST on 01 Jan 2012 to remove appearances in compilations from the tallies. The old data is available at the bottom of this article.
